#2: Sea Turtle Conservation Center
The Navarre Beach Sea Turtle Conservation Center doubles as an education center and is open to the public. While the exhibit isn’t that large, you can learn all about the local sea life through hands-on activities.
This place is great for both children of any age and adults. The main exhibit features a 15,000-gallon pool called home to Sweet Pea, a resident green sea turtle. She has been deemed non-releasable and has lived in her conservation home since 2018.
#3: Okaloosa Island
Okaloosa Island may only amount to a three-mile-long narrow patch of land in the Gulf of Mexico, but it’s an important destination in the area. The island has multiple public beaches and parks.
The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island is a perfect spot to shop, dine, and enjoy the Florida beach lifestyle. In fact, there are regular community events there that are completely free. These events are organized during the summer. For instance, Wednesday Fireworks is a popular event that has earned die-hard fans over the years.
#4: Beach Fishing Pier
Did you know that the longest fishing pier in Florida is located on Navarre Beach? This pier stretches 1,545 feet and rises 30 feet above the water underneath. The fishing pier’s location is excellent due to the clarity of the waters.
As you sit on the pier and fish, you can easily see schools of fish in the waters below. People fishing on the pier find the atmosphere laidback and wonderfully peaceful. If you’re lucky, you might even spot a stingray or dolphins in the crystal clear Gulf.
